Katie Jeager and Rachel keppeler May 9th we chose our theme and what we would do for our promotion. We made our objective by figuring out how to advertise to our target market. No questions.
1. May 9th - Psst...Don't keep this a secret 2. Objective: Create WOM & Referral program logo & theme Develop referral program to include: =Details of program -Incentives for customers -Dates of program -Promotional piece for customers 3. Today I worked on finding a graphic & color scheme to represent "secret" but in a bold way. I used two new resources - #1 & #2 in the "Helpful Resources" section. 4. Did anyone find a good template for creating direct mail pieces?
Found really cool sites on advertisements! - http://www.maaillustrations.com/articles/importance-of-illustration-in-advertising.html -http://www.myprofessionaladvertising.com/The%20Elements%20of%20Design.htm
I described the use of color, design, and illustrations in advertising!
Awesome - I will add these to our resources tab unless you already did! :) How are you going to use the colors, designs & illustrations as they should be used in advertising?
1) Promotion Theme: Not Just for Snow. 2) Objective: To understand the different promotional channels. 3)Today, we looked at the different promotional channels that we could use to open up the company to a new (summer-time) market. We decided to pursue a direct marketing mail piece and are considering our options in social networking and apparel options. We've researched mailer designs and are trying to come up with a concrete theme for the promotion. Plan to incorperate QR codes into some of the summer apparel design, to open it up to a broader, technological market. 4) None.
Remember to always go back to your target audience when designing. Please post the wesites that were helpful in the "Resources" tab (ie: your direct mail piece design).
May 7th- I researched the different types of direct marketing. Some of the ideas that I came up with were; mailing lists, telemarketing, infomercials, or magazine adds. Some potential ideas that I could actually use would be to use a mailing list for local skiers or snowboarders when the tour was in their area. We could send some sort of a coupon, or poster or something to get the people's attention.
May 8th- I researched the role of media in delivering direct marketing messages. This can be done with magazines, commercials, radio adds, or social media; such as Facebook or Twitter. The real role is to get people to know about something. The media has the potential to get people informed; a lot of people pay attention to it. I would be able to make some sort of either a Twitter or Facebook page saying locations, dates, etc.
So far so good! I think you have a good start. I'm anxious for someone to come up with the "big idea" that will "one up" this project from last semester! :)
Today we continued working on creating our website for Tires Plus! Finishing touches will be done tomorrow. We also decided on where we will place our business cards.

We looked at the use of direct marketing to attract attention, and are using that in our products/advertisments. We need to talk with our consultant and see if they have any suggestions before we go on to finishing our direct marketing mailing piece, and if they have any ideas for our clothing. 4) Didnt find any really helpful site, took bits and pieces from many.
